We adopt a needs-led approach to volunteering, ensuring that corporate engagement on our platform addresses genuine needs and wants.
As a charitable organisation, you'll be asked what help you require, and employees (along with community members) can discover these needs and volunteer to help.
To give you the best chance of receiving meaningful support, this process guide explains how corporate volunteering works on Neighbourly.
Before you start: Make sure you have completed your sign up process, filled out your categories and beneficiaries to ensure our matching algorithm can recommend you to companies.

Advertise what you need help with
By posting your volunteering needs, you help potential volunteers understand how they can help. Posting a 'need' doesn't require you to detail specific activities, dates or times, which gives maximum flexibility while minimising your administrative time.
Needs can also be listed indefinitely, removing the need for you to keep updating or creating new events. Think of this step as a simple hand raise.
Why do we do this?Using a needs-led approach means that any volunteering help you receive is tailored to your needs, rather than being led by the volunteers. |
Connect with local companies
We link your volunteering needs with suitable companies and campaigns where volunteers are ready and waiting to provide help.
Why do we do this?We aim to get the best engagement by using our technology to match you with the most appropriate companies and employees. This means that potential volunteers that have matching interests and skills can find you easily. |

Our system adds you to a campaign
Campaigns are the way that we connect local causes like yours to companies. This enables your volunteering needs to be discovered by their employees, enhancing your chances of receiving support. The platform will automatically attach your needs to the most relevant campaigns.
Why do we do this?Neighbourly makes connections between you and companies by aligning your needs with the goals and resources they have. This approach is more effective than displaying every opportunity to everyone. By matching in this way, we reduce the chance of you receiving expressions of interest from volunteers that may be less suitable. |

Receive offers of help
Potential volunteers will browse your volunteering needs and register interest if they think they can help. They'll provide their availability and say how they'd like to donate their hours.
Why do we do this?Employee volunteers often have specific dates or times when they can offer their time. By allowing employee volunteers to specify their availability when they register interest, we increase the chances of you both finding a suitable date and time for the opportunity to go ahead. |

Create volunteering events
With volunteer availability to hand, you can now create an event that details the tasks, location, date and time, ready for the volunteers to sign up
Why do we do this?Events that align with employees' availability are more likely to go ahead than events created without knowing who is interested and when they can help. |

Demonstrate impact
Impact reporting for good causes will give you access to detailed input, impact, and outcome metrics. This could help with grant applications or reporting your impact to key stakeholders or supporters.
Why do we do this?By having a sharable resource to demonstrate the social impact you help generate you can send your Neighbourly profile page to stakeholders, patrons, investors & donors to provide updates or generate more donations for your organisation. |
